A Fabulous Sporting Weekend (If You’re British)

Isn’t it great to be British right now?! It’s been a stunning weekend of British sporting success.

It all kicked off on Saturday morning with the British and Irish Lions utterly demolishing Australia in the third and final Test. That was soon followed by a sensational performance from Team Sky in the Tour de France—putting Chris Froome in the Yellow Jersey. And it concluded on Sunday afternoon when Andy Murray became the first British man to win Wimbledon in 77 years.

And it was sunny. All weekend. I know!

It’s amazing what a little bit of sporting success and some sunshine can do to lift the spirits of an entire nation.

Though, for those who aren’t British, it might not be so rosey. As my friend Matthew pointed out:

Between Sky’s cycling dominance and Murray’s win at Wimbledon, the British are going to be insufferable.

All I can say to that really is: deal with it! :-)

We don’t get these moment enough to worry about our being insufferable for a few days!

Now all that’s left to say is, bring on the Ashes!
